You have to be in your room by 10 each night. Then, there is a room check. If you are at the end of the hall the FA's may not get to your room till about 10:15. Lights are supposed to be out at 10:30 but I can pretty much say thats not going to happen. My roomies and I were always in bed around 11 or 11:30. If you split up your shower schedules you may be up even longer. When I went, 2 of us took showers at night and the other two went in the morning. If you are up past 10:30, be quiet!!!! If you are loud the FA's will have to come talk to you and they aren't happy (this happened to our neighbors.)

Hope that helped. Any more questions feel free to ask. Smile

Just to add on to what SwimmerGirl said before. Your LFG is who you will be with the most during your time at JrNYLC, and you will make some of best friends there. You may feel shy with them at first, but at the end of the week you feel like you have known them all your life!! You will have a great time!!!!!!!Hyper

i suggest you go to bed as early as possible. you have to wake up extra early in the morning. i learned that after a few nights. went to bed at like 11 and had to wake up at 4-5am. so tired throughout the day.

When I went the day we went to Harpers Ferry we had our alarm go off at 3:45am because breakfast started at 6am so we always tried to leave around 15 minutes early to get in line but I was always the first one up. Usually, I was the one who got up shut the alarm off and went to take a shower. My roomates were never up even after I would get ready and take a shower so they got up about 20 minutes later than I did. I remember that night we got a whole three hours of sleep. <- Due to the fact we were told to get our luggage ready and packed and everything so we were up till around 1am ;sadly we got a whole 2 and half hours of sleep. So what Im saying is G0 T0 BED AS S00N AS P0SSiBLE !

I agree with you josh! if i didn't get enough sleep, i was tired. i hated the night we had to pack up all of our stuff! it was horrible! my roommates and i had to pack everything up then take showers! i didn't fall asleep until 2 in the morning. then, at the sleepover they kept the lights on so it was hard to fall asleep. but the program was amazing except for those things

How do they pick you up when you get off the airport? What is the weather like? What do you do when you're not traveling? Are there curfews? Sry loads of questions not going til April1 Super hyped tho. Hyper

Yes, there are curfews of some sort. You have meetings till 10 and then you have to hurry back to your dorm because they say the check rooms at 10 but they didn't check mine till 10 15. Anyways I would be prepared for rain! When you aren't at a historic place you are most likely either eating or having a Meeting with the Leadership Focus Group, they become your family for the next 5 days!!!

Hope it helps!!!!!!!!!!

P.S I don't know how they pick you up at the airport , but there will be people there waiting for you!!!!!

Hi IRBandGeek! You should be excited, as this will be an amazing experience for you!!
Now for your questions:
If you are flying as a minor or with a parent someone will be at the gate to pick you up. You should be wearing your kacki pants and your polo and name tag so you can easily be identified. You will go with the representative from the conference to pick up your bags and you are off!

You can't be too sure on the weather until it actually gets closer to April. It is recommended for every conference that you bring an umbrella just incase.

As for the curfews you have meetings till about 9:55. Then you have to get to your rooms. Room check will start at 10 or 10:05 but if you are at the end of the hallway they might not get to your room till about 10:15 or 10:20. If you plan on showering at night, don't do so until you have been checked in for the night.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask! We are here to help out!

~ Julianna

Hi IRBandGeek! as for your questions, i don't know anything about the airport because i drove. Smile you won't really know what the weather is like until april. i suggest don't pack until like the weekend before you go so you can watch the weather channel to see what the weather will be like for your session. you will be BUSY the whole time. it's just go, go ,go for the whole session. when you're not sight- seeing, you will be at the conference center either eating or at your LFG meetings. Your LFG will be your family for the week. yes there are curfews. You get back to your room by 10 pm. ( yes, i know it's late) then, you have room check. you can't open your door to your room after room check. during my session, the FA who was assigned to my floor just had all of us on the floor come out into the hallway and we had one big room check instead of her walking around to every single room. Don't go in the shower, don't go to the bathroom or get changed before room check! the FA gets mad if they have to wait just for you. you hold up the whole floor and your roommates. because all of u in the room have to be at the door for room check. The FA's get mad if they see lights on in your room or hear you after 11 pm. by 11 pm, you should be fast asleep because you have to get up super early.

Hope that helps! any more questions, just ask! i love answering questions!

~ Jordan

When you get to the airport, as soon as you walk off the plane a person is standing right there. You won't be alone at all in the airport.
