The assignments are what CaliforniaCutie said however you have to give a survey to 5 mentors who inspired you or you really like them. That's really important because you use the results from the survey at the conference.

If you don't go to the conference then you won't be invited to any other conferences.

what should i do if i don't get along with my roomates???

The chances of not getting along with them is small! But if you don't, at least be civil to eachother. Life will be much easier if you are all on good terms.

Yeah the chances of you dont getting along s very slim.But if that is to happen you can spend most of your time out of your room until you have to be in your room and try not to start fights.The last thing you want is not getting along with them.My room mates became my bestfriends and the conference and we stayed up until 2 everynight messing around and watching tv with each other.

You'll love your roomies immediately even though you won't meet them quickly. I didn't meet 2 of my roomies until security check. I met my first roomie after dinner. If you don't get along, just try to be friendly or ignore them but I doubt you'll do that.

hey all you people taking about JrPYIC all the parents where the ones saying it was a disaster i had a blast and so did everyone at my hotel the Fa's where the best and we had so many fun memories we did have really late room checks but that was half the fun since you had a reason to stay up late and the food was pretty bad but at every conferece the food was not the best!!! you guys should all go next time it was the best ever

It was also the first time they did it for middle school so it was bound to have some mistakes.

hi. im new this summer..... how do you know where you are staying?

Peter:Im pretty sure all the summer sessions are staying at the 4-h center but you can check in your topic for your session or on your paperwork that you get in the mail that has all of your information.

Almost all the conferences are at 4H but like 1 or 2 are at the Hilton but those conferences are over already I think.

I think they are all over. But all of the end of summer conferences and fall ones are at the 4H

does anyone have any advice about special things to bring that i probably didn't think of

snacks, shampoo, conditioner, your own body soap, chargers, sun block, bug spray for harpers ferry, and of course your chargers and money.

if you arent using a digital camera, bring at least three rolls of film. I had to buy a disposable camera for 10 DOLLARS! because i ran out of film.

Yes come prepared if you are bringing a disposable. The ones in the gift shop/airport are never cheap... so remember its always to have more than not enough!

Don't bring money in large bills. Bring money in like $10, $5 or $20 bills to make it easier to buy things. Also, remember to charge you phone and camera every night and bring a lot of snacks, you'll get hungry and most importantly, have fun!
