Its all so fun! You can look around the museum and then you go to an Imax movie... its kinda boring. Then the next day when everyone gets up you all have breakfast then you listen to some speeches that people have been selected to do! When we were waiting for the busses they had a mini talent show! It was so fun. Have fun on your trip!

The weather was great! It was really humid in Harpers Ferry though! Its a great time of year to go!

What's JrPYIC? It's not on the program list.

Its the middle school program "Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference" they have it for high school too. It only occurs every four years... and obviously this year was one of them! They go learn about the inauguration and watch it and all!

But this year's JrPYIC was a disaster. I heard that people were up until 4 to get their security check done and they had to wake up at 6! The food wasn't good, and they had to stand for the whole inaguration FAR away from the action! I hope they'll improve it because I really want to go next time!

ya i heard it was a disaster too...my roomate at alumni boston went and her grandmother complained to cylc about her experience so they let her go to boston for free

I heard that some parents were going to press legal charges against CYLC. I think the program accepted to many students! They were supposed to have seats for the inauguration but since so many kids came there weren't enough!

Yes but everyone has to understand they only get to do One PYIC every Four years unlike other confrences like Jr.NYLC that have 40 or so sessions each year so they have time to perfect it.It is hard to perfect something you only do every four years.

yeah, I heard some pretty bad stories about JrPYIC. I still want to go though.

Are you invited for all the other programs after JrNYLC or do teachers have to keep nominating you?

Well as an alumni you get invited to Boston. My teachers only nominated me once but i was invited to Boston, Jr. PYIC, and NYLSC

When I went we were supposed to write a page about someone who inspired us. You may want to check to see if the assignment is still the same.

Quinn:One of the assignments is to write a essay,make a collage,make a painting or what ever way you want to express what leadership means to you or who in your life is a leader to you.Im not sure if you still have to but when i went we had to give 5 surveys to leaders in our lifes for them to fill out.

Mickee:Yes once you go to one you are invited to all the rest.But i have a few friends who were nominated and didnt go and they havnt been invited to another conference.
