For relaxed professional, i am not sure what kind of shoes i can bring. I bought some soft leather loafers. Would that be okay considering all the walking. Or should i get sperry's instead?

I brought black leather shoes and my feet hurt! I wore them the whole time... and I wish I wouldn't of, although you can change after dinner/ before LFG (leadership focus group) and as long as you aren't wearing tennis shoes for relaxed professional... you'll be just fine! Have a blast, I just got back Thursday and I LOVED it! Just make alot of friends on the 1st day!

for relaxed professional days it would also be a great idea for girls to have at least one pair of black ballet flats. They come in so handy because ou can wear them with almost anything!

flats are a very good idea!!
make sure they aren't rough or hard material cause that will give you blisters. The soft ones are best from like payless or justice or limited too.

Honestly, when I went to the conference from 10-31-07 to 11-1-2007, it wasen't as formal as they made it out to be. When we got there, not everyone was really dressed up and fancy. I would say that as long as you wore decent clothes (no ripped jeans, no stains, not big or baggy, etc.) you are okay. For shoes, something simple, like for girls I think Mary Janes are perfect. Good luck Smile

They really aren't strict when it comes to shoes so if you want to wear sneakers that's fine. Whatever you think will be comfortable because you definitely don't want blisters.

I went to JR.Nylc during July of 08!!

I LOVED It!!!!

JR.NYLC ROX!!!!
anyways..
i brought comfortable black shoes that are like balet flats, but have a strap to keep them on good!!! They were as comfortable as sneakers... but towards the end of the week i started getting blisters, so i brought Crocs for down time (and sneakers)

Crocs are good when everyone is running around the Maryland science center too!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

I<3 JR.NYLC

When I went, they were really strict about the clothes, but shoes weren't a big deal. I'd bring
1 pair of nice shoes (mary janes, something like that)
1 pair of flats
1 pair of sneakers

but i'm not really a sneaker person, so i didn't pack any.

I went like two years ago and I wore like loafer type shoes. I think you should pack one nice comfy pair, sneakers and then like I love flip flops so I packed 2-3 pairs to wear in the room and around the hotel.

When I Went To JrNYLC:

-Breakfast was at 7, and the cafeteria did NOT open until 7, so don't show up early - it's not worth it.

-They're really isn't a lights-out, although by 10:30 the FAs get annoyed.
-Once you return to your room, you can call home. I would recommend calling either after Room Check (the FAs make sure everyone is in their room) or in the morning before breakfast and LFGs.

same. i called home at night, before lights out. they weren't too strict about when you called, as long as it was night/morning.
