As I said b fore.....they seperate it in grades!!!
Quote from FAQs: NYLSC accepts outstanding 6th through 11th grade students who demonstrate maturity, academic excellence and leadership potential. Students are separated into groups at the Conference based on their grade levels.

I was really nervous when I went ot JrnYLC. I wa the only one from my stae at the time, and the youngest out of EVERYONE that time during the conference. I was in the 5th grade and I was 10 years old. I know so young! but dont be afraid to tell ppl your age. I know i was but the pplz will accept you for who you are. but dont act immature make sure to act like a mature adult! and.... HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are 3 different age groups. 6th-7th grade 8th-9th grade and 10th-11th grade. Most conferences are for 8-9th and 10-11th grades. The people your working with at your conference are probably going to be in 6th and 7th grade. Don't be worried the grades will be separated at the conference.
