i think so, though I wouldn't advise bringing your laptop because there is probably internet access in the hotel and your not in the room all the time so you might worry about it while you're out.
Hey there. I think this is a VERY good question and is frequently asked, so I'm going to answer this, even if it is a wee bit old.
You are permitted to bring these items however all must be turned off during Leadership Focus Group (LFG) meetings. Regarding a laptop the only time it might be of value is when you are separated into your activities groups, which is where you organize the debates, talent show, and the commencement ceremony. I personally only used my iPod on the first night, but I know others used it almost every night to kind of wind down after VERY long days. The days are long and slightly rigorous, so you are exhausted by the time you return to your rooms. I brought my cell phone, seeing that it was one of the few ways I could communicate with my parents, but I only used it once. I would leave these items in your room and would only bring them if they are totally necessary.

Yeah your allowed to bring that stuff. Alot of people broke out the laptops, cell phones, and ipods during my conference. The hotel lobby had free wifi too!
