Hi All, It is just a matter of weeks before the first session of GYLC. I know most people are in exam mode and it is just a matter of a couple of days until exams are over and GYLC fever takes over. I remember my pre-GYLC days as though it was yesterday. So as session one get closer just a couple of tips to the lead up. Tip one alway keep water with you the DC weather is pretty hummid this time of year. Keep well hydrated since you will be on the GO. Regards, Vishal

Hi, Just to add to what Pipps said. You have to purchase your own airline tickets. You will not be accompanied by anyone unless you know someone form your school or a friend going to the same session. A staff member from GYLC will be at the selected airports to accompany you on a shuttle to the conference. You will have to walk with $40 to pay for the shuttle, and keep #40 for returning to the airport. Regards, Vishal

TIP OF THE DAYA early start is best to ensure you don't get left behind. Breakfast is important to your power packed day. The average day ends at 10 pm so chat with your roommates but get enough sleep to get up at 6:15 am to have breakfast and share the bathroom with 2 persons. Cheers Vishal

Quick Question: I thought the flights were included in the tuition...so do I just pick the flights and GYLC pays for them, or do I have to pay for them too? (THIS MAY ONLY BE FOR THE EUROPEAN CONFERENCE)

Hi, As far as I remembered I had to pay for my own flight. But I do believe that for American participants i.e. Students residing in the USA there is a fee attached to the normal cost that covers travel. To be sure contact CYLC's office. Don't take what I said for granted contact CYLC. Regards, Vishal

Hi Amanda You will have lots of options for lunch. They take you to a shopping location where there are malls and lots off restaurants so that you have lots of options to choose from. A average lunch in DC can cost any where from $3 - $20 for a decent meal depending on what kind of eater you are (Gourmet/Fast food), Lunch in New York are a bit cheaper. The Breakfast and Dinners provided at the Conference is usually Buffet style and you can live on them if you like the food. So depending on if you like the food you can skip lunch. Regards, Vishal

TIP OF THE DAY IF you are on a tight budget but, you want to shop.Electronics are best to be bought in China Town not in Times Square. You can get candies and chocolates at any CVS Pharmacy at a good prices if you want chocolates to take back home. For the girls I do believe there is a Macy's and J C Penny and Old Navy at Pentagon City Mall. I do believe they take you there on day 4 of the conference. For us Guys there is Radio Shack use to have a Circuit City and a lot of Sport stores. The stop over in Philadelphia is good site seeing and so good shopping also. Regards, Vishal
